President Bush is calling for war against Iraq, and Alan Pogue is
calling for peace. "No War On Iraq" is a statement that needs to
be heard.
Who is Alan Pogue? He's an award-winning documentary photographer,
based in Austin, Texas, who has seen more of war and more of Iraq than
Bush has. Pogue has made several trips to the Middle East -- including
one last month to Iraq -- to photograph the ordinary people, the ones
most affected by war. The ones that will be "collateral damage" and
"unintended consequences" if Bush goes through with his plans.
In this audio story, Pogue talks about the men, women and children he
has met in the Middle East. He brings the people of the area to life
and challenges the limited information Americans receive via the
national media.
But beware! If you listen to this audio, you'll never again think of
the Middle East in the same way. You'll never again think of war
anywhere in the same way.
